Changing Lives One Service Dog at a Time

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada is helping change the lives of veterans, military members and first responders living with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through a recent grant awarded to Boots on the Ground. The funding supports the placement of three highly trained service dogs at no cost to recipients, providing critical care, companionship and renewed independence for those who have dedicated their lives to serving others.
The grant will expand Boots on the Ground’s growing PTSD service dog program, which aims to improve the mental health and quality of life of individuals coping with trauma-related injuries. Service dogs can provide life-changing assistance by helping interrupt panic attacks, reduce anxiety, create comfort in public spaces and support daily routines for those living with PTSD.
